On the Job

Albert H. Strabic was born in Vestaburg, Pennsylvania, in 1916 and moved to Akron with his family at the age of 13. Albert H. Strabic worked at Goodyear for 40+ years and was part of the team that went to the Philippines in 1956 to open the plant at Las Piñas. He was famous for his keen insights to improve business, and never missed a day of work in his first 40 years on the job. He kept numerous mementos from his work, and cherished the menu from his flight to the Philippines, and a telegraph he received from president Ramon Magsaysay after his trip. The story of Albert H. Strabic is submitted on behalf of his children, Patty Brady (deceased), Fran West, Stephanie Rummel, and Albert J. Strabic.
