Thacker's

Debra Porter's father, Kenneth E. Nelson, liked to be called "Kenny" and worked at Firestone for 28 years, and at Goodyear for 7 years. Her parents got married on Valentine's Day in 1955, and were married for over 25 years. Kenny was a machinist who built tire molds. He had to work with a lot of precision tools, and was admired by his colleagues and peers for his outstanding work ethic. Kenny was a proud and loyal union member. Debra fondly recalls going downtown and attending community events with her family.
