The Workload
Thomas Dyser worked at BF Goodrich from 1970-1984, starting as a compounder in the mill room, then as a banbury operator, and then back in the mill room. He used to prepare the ingredients needed to make certain batches of rubber. Thomas remembers and describes what the work was like. He grew up in South Akron and his mother was a preacher's daughter from Canton, who graduated from college as a registered nurse. His dad started a shoe store in Michigan before moving to Akron for the factory work. Thomas fondly remembers growing up in Akron.
