Enlisted Young
Joyce Weiser’s father, Edward Bauer, was an engineer at Goodyear. They lived on a farm at 1733 South Arlington Street, and raised pheasants for Goodyear’s hunting grounds at Wingfoot Lake. Joyce was the youngest of three, and has fond childhood memories of growing up in Akron and watching the blimps fly overhead. Her older brothers both served in the military during World War II, which had a profound impact on their generation.
