Their Best
Lucille Esposito remembers her mother, Filomene "Mae" Riccilli, who worked at BF Goodrich from 1933 to 1976. Filomene was a proud and skilled worker who made de-icers for airplanes. She was also a union representative who worked very hard to support her colleagues and family. Filomene's mother came from a small town in Italy, and she was born in Akron, Ohio. She married Lucille's father in 1928, right before the Great Depression (1929-1933), and her parents decided they would both work so that their kids could get a good education. Lucille remembers her mother's pride, character, and grit as defining attributes that always inspired her.
